Hi, my name is Jamie Davis, in addition to being a mom I'm also a register dietitian. I conduct research and work with families on ways to prevent childhood obesity. Today I'm going to be answering top question I get from parents. I've always heard that whole wheat bread with healthier than white bread there's so many options which one would be healthier for my family. I get this question a lot you want to look for two things you want the label to say a hundred percent whole grain And then you want to check nutrition facts and try to aim for more than five grams the dietary fiber.
Hey Jaime my daughter Alexis she is the pickiest eater on this planet she won't eat any veggies. What can I do?
Your kids not the only one when he comes to being picker eater of vegetables try putting in their favorite dishes you can put cheese on them or smother marinara sauce or sometimes they won't even know that there.
Hey Jamie I have a question for you that my son Hank school they replace all those sodas in the vending machines with sports drink. That is a better option right?
Actually this is a common misconception there much sugar per serving and sports drinks, however, the container of a lot of time double or triple that of a soda so you end of getting the same if not more sugar tried choosing a water bottle are watering down your sports drink.
Hey Jamie I give my daughter granola bar as snacks I think it's a good thing. But is it really healthy?
When it comes to snacks you're definitely on track, however, be careful because some bars have a lot of sugar and not much fiber so try to read your labels and find one that has less than 10 grams of sugar and more than five grams of fiber. I've given you a lot of healthy tips just try one or two of them and you'll be taking a step in the right direction
