Hi, I'm Lee Woodruff at the craft table with Family Fun. Adults and kids alike love all kinds of flowers and these colorful tissue paper blossoms are no exception.
To make a tissue paper flower you'll need brightly colored tissue paper, a pipe cleaner, scissors, green crepe paper, a bamboo garden stick, and some tape. First, stack six different color sheets of tissue paper, each one about 8 x 12 inches, and then fold the stack accordion style just like this. Then, take one pipe cleaner and twist it around the center of the folded tissue paper. Now, take the scissors and round off both ends of the stack. Gently pull up one layer of tissue paper at a time toward the center until you have a nice full blossom like this. Now, carefully turn over the flower and attach two 24-inch strips of green crepe paper to the ends of the pipe cleaner we used earlier. Take the same pipe cleaner ends and wrap them around the end of an 18-inch bamboo garden stick securing them with a piece of tape. Once you get the hang of making tissue paper flowers you can make mini ones, which make great decorations to wear, or giants ones for a nice display.
