Grilled Shrimp

Whether you're cooking for your family or a large group, we've got the perfect summer picnic food. I'm Lee Woodruff at the grill with Family Fun. Mix up the menu a bit with some tasty grilled shrimp.

You'll need two pounds of large raw shrimp in the shell, a cup of virgin olive oil, two garlic cloves finely chopped, one cup of dry white wine, a half a teaspoon of salt, a teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper, and a quarter cup finely chopped Italian parsley. Hold the shrimp by their tails and tug off the shells. Remove the black vein with a knife and rinse. Combine the marinated ingredients in a non-metallic bowl and add the shrimp. Soak them for two to three hours, turning frequently. When your BBQ is ready, remove the shrimp from the marinade and place them on the grill. A hinch grilling basket like this one makes for easy turning and keep the shrimp from falling through the grill. Grill the shrimp for about three minutes on each side depending on their size. Have fun experimenting. Grill the shrimp with the shells on and then peel at the table. It's a little messy but the flavor can't be beat.
