Hello, my name is Chris Brown and I'd like to welcome everybody to Yellowstone National Park. Just downstream from our present location the Yellowstone River drops over the Upper Falls. At that point it flows for another 22 miles through one of the prettiest and most spectacular canyons in North America. Families love Artist's Point. It gives them an opportunity to view the lower falls as well as the walls of the Grand Canyon.
The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is just fantastic for families because of all that you can see in just this one spot. You're so high up and it's so tremendously large and deep, it gives the kids the perspective on things. It left a great impression on me.
It's pretty far down, don't you think?
Mm, hmm, you wouldn't want to fall down there.
No, you wouldn't.
The interactive visitor's center at Canyon is a fabulous place to take kids after a day of being out in the wild. There's so much information. Stuff they can touch and feel. Computers that give them the information, maps, paintings, just all sorts of things that they can interact with and learn, I mean that's what this is all about is learning about why protecting places like Yellowstone and having them is important.
