Fourth of July Twirlers

Put your patriotic spirit on display with these 4th of July twirlers. Hi everybody I'm Forbes Riley at the craft table with Family Fun. Now, to add some festive flare this season, simply hang an array of these red, white and blue twirlers from a window frame, a tree, or even your front porch. You'll need plastic coffee can lids, a marker, a nail, scissors, and string. First, cut off the rim of your coffee can lid. Then, use a nail to poke a hole in the center. With a marker, draw a spiral that starts three eighths of an inch from the hole and gradually extends to the rim. Then cut along the line with scissors. Make a knot at the end of the piece of string and thread the other end up through the hole in the center. Now the twirler is ready to go. To spin, grasp each one at the bottom, twirl it around until the string is wound tight, let it go, and enjoy the show.
