Hi, I'm Lee Woodruff at the craft table with Family Fun. These colored sand vases are a blast to make with your kids and they'll add a bright burst of color to your home.
You just need these household items to make them; some clean glass bottles or jars, colored sand sold at most crafts supply stores, a paint brush, white glue, and spoons and plates. Use a paint brush to paint a coat of glue on the outside of the glass bottle. Once it's well covered with glue, sprinkle spoonfuls of colored sand over the bottle as you rotate it. If you really want to get creative with this, try using more than one color of sand on the same glass bottle or jar. You can also encourage your child to paint the glue on the jar in swirls or shapes to create interesting patterns. If you make five or six of these colorful vases you can line them up and fill them with fresh flowers for a beautiful homemade display. They make a great gift for a teacher, a surprise for a teacher, or a Mother's Day present.
