My Quote
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I can't change, courage to change those I can, wisdom to know the difference.
About Me
I am known as Ms.Money and have been teaching women, children and families money skills for over a decade. I created a comprehensive financial education web site to educate and empower people to take control of their personal finances. By doing so, I believe people will be able to pursue their dreams and live more fulfilling lives. I have appeared on TV, radio, magazines, books and other media and I blog several times a week.
About My Family
I am a married mom of a 5 year old living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Family is very important to me and focus a lot of energies on making sure I can provide a healthy and happy home. I have taken quite a bit of time off work to spend time with my son and my husband so we can create the foundation of a strong family unit before I go back to work.

Therapy Better Than Meds for Kids, Teens with OCD
Many people don't realize that what your child eats could be influencing their behavoir. I have a sensitivity to wheat and gluten so when I eat those things my mood changes dramatically. Studies shown that Autistic children often have gluten and dairy allergies and when they eat those foods they act out more.
Not Acceptable?Weighing the Pros and Cons of Nannies and Daycare Centers
Don't forget to weigh the costs of each option. Nanny care in San Francisco can range from $12 an hour to $28 an hour in the wealthier neighborhoods. Many people can't afford this luxury of private care and so daycare at $5-$10 and hour is the only option. Just make sure to choose a daycare school very carefully. I work at a co-op preschool and a just a few children who "act-out" in a small group can really influence your child's long term behavior.
Not Acceptable?Video Games: Friend or Foe?
My Master's thesis was on how preschool children learn from multimedia. It is amazing what those little brains absorb. My husband who was in the gaming industry still plays games like Halo. I can tell you for sure that when my 5 year old catches a glimps of them he acts out the scenes the next day. If was shooting aliens, he will be doing that at school. I have an absolute rule no violent games when he is around.
