What I've Been Talking About

A Story About:

Potty Training for Preschoolers

February 28, 2008

My 4 year old son has been potty trained for over a year and now for the past two months has been wetting his pants frequently during the day and at night. We have been to the doctor and they say there is no infection and everything seems fine! We don't know what to do! We have played the "it's ok, try harder" parents and also the "Now we have to take this toy away" parents...I am soooo frustrated and sick of doing laundry everyday, i don't know what to do or who to ask for help anymore. Anyone who has had similar problems or knows where i can get an answer. PLEASE WRITE ME BACK ASAP. thanks

I feel your frustrations. I have a 3-1/2 year old that is doing the same thing. She is wetting her pants 3 to 4 times a day. I am back to carrying a bag with clothes everywhere we go. My friend said her daughter went through this same thing, however it is very frustrating. I was like you and tried everything and nothing has seemed to work. I hope this is a stage they go through and hopefully it is a fast stage!

Don't freak....its ok...its a learning experence for the both of you. My son did the same...it was when his lil brother was born. Not saying some has but think...has something changed in his lil life just think....something that may not seem big to you...may just rock his lil world. Another this is they have these new goodnights that are lil boxers... I love them. Also remind him thru out the day to go potty he may just too scared to miss something. Hope this helps...I am here if you need to talk. But in the mean while just breathe and my doctor say not to punish for accidents just simply put him on the toliet andlet him sit there while you explain that big boys potty in the big boy potty....not in their pants. GOOD LUCK! Shwee
