What I've Been Talking About

A Story About:

Tattoos & Piercings

April 23, 2008

My 15 year old daughter, a straight A student, does not party, likes drama and music and causes us very little stress with her behavior, wanted her nose pierced for her birthday. After much research on both sides of the issue, her dad and I let her have her nose pierced with limits on the type of studs she could wear. One of her reasons was to be an individual, she is a middle child between 2 more athletic siblings and wanted to make a statement about who she is. I have to admit that it looks very cute on her and maybe gave her a bit of a confidence boost when it comes to her outward appearance. I would recommend researching to find a good piercer before jumping into this.

Parent Moments: Planning for the Big Day

April 23, 2008

Life is what happens while you are planning your future! While pregnant with my third baby, I had a two and four year old, I was put on bed rest at 20 weeks. I too had a list of helpers. Family and friends stepped in and I had nothing to worry about except having a healthy baby. On Mother's Day the doctors decided we could wait no longer, so at 33 weeks our baby girl was welcomed into our family. Again our list of family and friends stepped up and took charge of making our lives stress free so we could concentrate on helping our preemie! After only 24 days in the hospital we were able to bring our feisty little fighter home and have her meet her siblings for the first time! Life would have been so much more difficult at that time if not for friends and family!! As we never really had a chance to work out plan A,B,C or any other....I am thankful to God that His plan went off as planned! Our baby is turning 13 this May and she is still a Mother's Day blessing.
