What I've Been Talking About
Giving Brand Names the Boot
I'm a firm believer in clearance racks and second hand stores, you wouldn't believe what you will find there! I bought my 4 year old daughter a pair of real crocs from goodwill for $1.99, my son is a dirt bike rider and loves Fox & Thor stuff. I found him a hoodie at a consigment shop for $4.99 and I found him actual riding pants at a yard sale for $5, they retail at $80! Just shop around and check out those second hand stores, sometimes its worth it!
Not Acceptable?Parent Moments: Three Times, You Win
I have found that if you start their bedtime at about 6 months you don't come into as many problems later on. My youngest is one today and we have her on the same bedtime as her siblings and have done so since she was 6 months old and we transferred her out of our room and into her sisters. The first couple nights she cried, but after that she was fine and now at bedtime we lay her down, turn off the lights and don't hear a peep until morning.
Not Acceptable?8 Easy Bargain Hunting Tips for Parents
I have four children and have learned the only way to shop for less is to buy clothes a season ahead and I save the clothes that still are wearable to hand down to the younger children. Instead of buying expensive pj's, I let the girls sleep in my old shirts, which they love b/c they were mommies. I also register with all the coupon sites and stores that I visit frequently, so I know when the sales are and have coupons to go along with it. For an added bonus I add my mom to the mailing lists so I get double coupons for diapers and baby food.
