Grand Prismatic Spring Description

More than 370 feet in diameter and 121 feet deep, Grand Prismatic is Yellowstone's (and the country's) largest hot spring. While it's not for swimming, it is entertaining, with gorgeous colors created by bacteria in the water. The spring lives inside the Midway Geyser Basin, which has plenty more to see, including Excelsior Geyser, a massive 200x300-foot crater that shoots 4,000 gallons of water a minute into Firehole River.
