Norris Geyser Basin Boardwalk Hike Description
Just over two miles of trails wind through oldest -- and one of the hottest -- parts of Yellowstone, taking you past the world's tallest active geyser (Steamboat Geyser) and through Porcelain Basin, an area covered in white rock-sheet that gurgles from the pressure of the steam beneath it. Kids can discover the unpredictability of Mother Nature as they learn how the land changes throughout the year -- and sometimes even overnight -- with pools going from clear to muddy in the mere stretch of a day, or geysers erupting regularly, then stopping for long stretches of time.
