Firehole Canyon Drive & Firehole Lake Drive Description
Firehole Canyon Drive is a pleasant, one-way, two-mile detour off the Grand Loop Road just south of Madison Junction. There's a popular swimming area near Firehole Falls along the way. About seven miles south is Firehole Lake Drive, a five-mile, one-way road with several geysers to see en route. The most prominent is Great Fountain Geyser. Park in the designated parking area to see if she's ready to put on a show.

Babies: Babies will likely be lulled to sleep along these scenic drives, and are easily carried around any stops to view geysers or waterfalls along the way.
School-Age Kids: Even if mostly in the car, there's a lot to see during the drives, and kids will love swimming near the falls.

Planning Notes
- Check geyser eruption schedules. If Great Fountain Geyser is set to erupt any time near sunset during your visit, definitely plan on being there -- and be sure to bring your camera.
- Bring swimsuits. The popular swimming area near Firehole Falls is a worthwhile stop along the drive.
