Yellowstone Lake Scenic Cruise Description
This guided cruise of Yellowstone Lake is short but fun, running from the Bridge Bay Marina out to Stephenson Island and back. Tour guides bring the history and lore of the lake alive, including tales of a boat that sank in the 1920s (if the water is clear, kids will even get a glimpse of her bones). Early in the cruise, passengers are treated to a great view of the historic Lake Yellowstone Hotel, still painted in its signature yellow hue dating back to the 1890s. You'll also get to see plenty of wildlife, since bald eagles and osprey call the area home.

Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: School age kids will love seeing the remains of an old boat that sank in the 1920s.
Pre-Teens & Teens: This is a short, relaxing cruise so boredom shouldn't be much of a factor.
Planning Notes
- Reservations are recommended. During peak summer season, tours fill up fast, so reserve a spot well in advance. If you don't have a reservation, call to see if there are any cancellations.
- Dress in layers. It's often chillier out on the water, so be sure to bring windbreakers or dress in layers.
- Arrive 15 minutes early. You don't want to miss the boat.
- Life jackets are required. By law, all passengers must wear a life jacket, so you won't have to worry about bringing one.
