Alpine Slide at Snow King Resort Description
It's not every summer day you get to slide down a mountain. The Alpine Slide is a popular Jackson Hole attraction because it's unique, affordable, and tons of fun from start to finish. And unlike most sledding hills, this one comes with a chair lift to whisk you to the starting point, where you hop on a plastic sled with a handle that controls the speed and take off for 2,500 twisting, turning feet down a mountainside.
Kid Tips
Babies: Kids must be two years old and able to walk on their own to ride the slide.
Toddlers & Pre-K: Kids under six must ride with an adult.
School-Age Kids: Have kids practice using the brakes before heading down the slide, and remind them to follow signs along the run cautioning riders to slow down for curves.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Even teens love the Alpine Slide because they can control—and therefore increase—the speed.
Planning Notes
- Snow King guest discount. Guests of the resort receive a discount on passes for the Alpine Slide, miniature golf, and the nearby Scenic Chairlift ride.
- No racing allowed. Two slides run side by side, but racing is prohibited.
- Multi-ride passes. You can purchase a five-ride pass ($65, or $50 after 4 p.m.), but the "fun pass unlimited" ($89) lets you ride as often as you'd like during your stay and includes miniature golf and the chairlift ride, both located near the Alpine Slide.
