Craig Thomas Discovery & Visitor Center Gift Shop Description
The modern-yet-rustic architecture turns heads when people pass through Moose Junction off the main park road. The newly constructed Craig Thomas Discovery & Visitor Center houses a small but pithy museum that provides a great introduction to Grand Teton National Park. The gift shop is loaded with souvenirs, books, and gadgets for both enjoying and remembering your trip here.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Have kids look for the "rivers" on the floor of the Discovery Center; special video displays mounted in the floor that visitors can walk across.
School-Age Kids: Many park-specific books are available for purchase in the gift shop, covering everything from ecology, Native American culture, camping, and wildlife.
Pre-Teens & Teens: The Discovery Center has an impressive mountaineering display of gear used to get climbers past and present to the top of the Tetons.
Planning Notes
- Buy or stamp your "passport." If you haven't already, purchase a souvenir "Passport To Your National Parks" ($7.95) at the visitor center gift shop. Kids can get their passports stamped at each visitor center. There are also stickers available for a small fee for each National Park, including Grand Teton.
