Jenny Lake Scenic Drive Description

The Jenny Lake Scenic Drive is one of those simple pleasures worth experiencing in Grand Teton National Park. Located at North Jenny Lake Junction off the main park road about four miles north of the Jenny Lake Visitor Center, this short drive through a forested landscape includes a scenic overlook with space to park and walk down to the shore, where you're likely to find kids of all ages skipping stones across Jenny Lake.

Kid Tips

Toddlers & Pre-K: The trail to the lake is steep and narrow with few handrails.

Planning Notes

    • Wait on a parking space. This is a one-way scenic drive, so if you don't see a parking space, wait for people to leave (turnover is quick) or you'll have to repeat the one-way drive again to hunt for a space.
    • Hike to the lake. It's a slightly steep but very short walk to the lake, where you can get your toes wet in the clear glacier-fed waters of Jenny Lake; the view of Cascade Canyon on the other side is jaw-dropping.
