Tommy Bartlett's Exploratory Description
The cheese factor here is high but your kids won't care, since this museum was clearly designed with them in mind. From the elevator ride simulating a space shuttle docking to the TV screen depicting a projected image of your child moving around in a video game, every level in this multi-story museum has something for kids to get their hands on or wrap their brains around. The mish-mash of scientific information housed in over 150 exhibits (including the core of a real MIR space station) keeps kids eagerly moving from floor to floor, anxious to discover what's next.
Kid Tips
Babies: There aren't really any baby-centric activities here, but ramps and elevators make getting around with a stroller easier.
Toddlers & Pre-K: Some of the science and text-heavy exhibits are too advanced for this age group, but they won't really care much since they'll be engrossed in the tanagram puzzle and the Big Dig exhibit.
School-Age Kids: The High Wire SkyCycle that glides across a cable twelve feet off the ground is a huge hit, but there's a height restriction of 54", so prepare shorter kids for disappointment.
