Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf Description
There are several miniature golf venues in the Dells, but none with the views of the Wisconsin River (from the Pirates Lookout course) available from Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf. You have to work to get to those views, hiking higher and higher up for each hole played. While part of a chain, this is the largest Pirate's Cove franchise in the nation, with five courses of varying levels. The newly added Family Fun Center, complete with self-propelled "pedal karts" that come in toddler and big kid sizes, is a great alternative for kids too young to golf or for a break after playing a round or two.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Stick to the easiest course (Blackbeards 18) for little ones, who might find the climbs to the higher courses too tiring.
School-Age Kids: The massive, functioning sun dial will be an educational hit with this age group, as will the Pirates Lookout course with its views of the Wisconsin River as it surges over the dam.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Pirates Challenge 18 and Captain Hooks 19 are more challenging.
Planning Notes
- Bring a picnic. A large outdoor play area near picnic tables is perfect for a lunch or snack break.
- Spring for snacks. If you forget to pack a picnic, several vending machines with pop and water are conveniently located next to the courses. A small snack shop can be found near the Family Fun Center.
- Golf for less. Check the website for specials (click "Coupons" on the home page).
