Hands On Art Studio Description
Kids (and adults) of all ages can let their imaginations run wild at Hands-On Art Studio, a series of studios housed at a country farm (complete with chickens, ducks, and llamas). Paint a shirt or figurine, throw a pot, sculpt jewelry, decorate a frame with glass tiles, even weld a metal sculpture--it's up to you and your child, with as much (or as little) guidance as you want from the helpful--but not intrusive--staff.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Kids this age love selecting paint colors and watching them get spun onto a T-shirt on the first floor of the main building.
School-Age Kids: Kids this age still need a parent's supervision for certain activities, like welding.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Older kids love the jewelry, glass, and metal studios where their only limitations are their imagination and budget.
Planning Notes
- Map out your stay. There's a lot to do, and each activity has a different time and cost commitment, so sit down with your family when you first arrive and make a plan of action.
- Check your budget. The studio fee is low, but costs for project supplies can add up fast.
- Plan to come back. Some projects, like glazed items and painted shirts, need time to dry. If you don't make arrangements to pick yours up or have it shipped home, it'll wind up on the abandoned projects "wall of shame."
