GameWorks Seattle Description
GameWorks is two levels of arcade fun with a family-friendly restaurant to keep you fueled. With exposed brick walls and cavernous ceilings, it can be a little noisy, but you'll be having too much fun to notice. Teens will find all the latest coin-operated and computerized games, while the retro-minded will enjoy such classics as Asteroids and Frogger, plus pinball machines and ticket games. The upstairs tends to be a haven for non-violent games and younger children. A great rainy day activity!
Kid Tips
Babies: GameWorks can be noisy, and there are a lot of flashing lights.
Toddlers & Pre-K: Go upstairs to the old-fashioned ticket games where kids can play in a quieter spot and get prizes.
School-Age Kids: Air hockey, billiards, and other table top games are always fun for this set.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Turn teens loose with their own Game Play Card. You'll have a hard time prying them away.
Planning Notes
- Go during the day. This is when GameWorks is kid heaven. In the evenings, the crowd tends to skew older, and after 10 p.m., only those 18 years and older are admitted.
- Buy a Game Card. The games are pricey if you pay as you play. A Game Card is a better bargain, and the kids can share it.
- Make sure it's open. GameWorks occasionally closes for a few hours for a private event. Check the Website for updates.
