Children's Museum Description
This place means endless fun for kids up to age 7. Climbers and explorers gravitate to Mountain Forest, while Neighborhood lets kids drive a bus, shop in a supermarket, or work in a Mexican restaurant. And for those who enjoy dress-up and make believe, Bijou Theater has everything they need to launch a full production. The gift shop has a nice assortment of high-quality toys and art supplies.
Kid Tips
Babies: Head straight for Discovery Bay, designed for infants and toddlers younger than 2 1/2.
Toddlers & Pre-K: Younger kids enjoy Cog City, where they can send balls through pullies, pipes, mazes, and levers. Tired kids can curl up with a book, hide in a tent, or rest on giant pillows in Storytelling Circle.
School-Age Kids: Older kids who are artistically inclined may enjoy Imagination Studio, where artists and visitors work together to create works of art.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Send teens upstairs to the Center House where they can shop for souvenirs or get a snack while they wait for the little ones.
Planning Notes
- Eat before you go. There are no food services in the Children's Museum itself, but there are plenty in the Center House. Fuel up first so kids don't wear out too fast.
- Park it. Stroller parking is available.
