Yankee Candle Description
It's Christmas year-round at the candle maker's Williamsburg store, where Santa visits every day with children and it "snows" every 15 minutes even in the heat of summer. The magical wonderland entertains kids with singing animatronic mice, candle-making demonstrations, and the chance to dip their own candles to take home. The company has an inspirational background, too: It all started in 1969 when 17-year-old entrepreneur Mike Kittredge made a candle out of melted crayons for his mother.
Toddlers & Pre-K: Older kids love to wander around the 10,000 square foot wonderland on their own -- determine a meeting place and let them explore.
School-Age Kids: Kids this age will certainly want to dip their own candles (in vats of colored wax). They make wonderful, inexpensive gifts.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Preteen girls will particularly love this program, with its beautifully coiffed and dressed women outfitted in lace, silk, and ornate jewelry.
- Eat up. From kid-friendly snacks to fudge, there are plenty of options for a light bite or dessert at the store.
- Magical clock. Plan a stop at the clock tower in the Main Street area for the musical show -- it occurs every half hour.
