Ghosts of Williamsburg Candlelight Tour Description
There's nothing more enchanting -- and eerie -- than walking through Williamsburg at night. The main thoroughfare does have some electric lighting, but for the most part the historic area is lit only by candles in the windows, the glow of the moon, or that of a torch or lantern being carried by a guide on one of the haunted tours of town. Based on the book "The Ghosts of Williamsburg" by L.B. Taylor, it's a frightful (but not too frightful) and fun family outing looking for ghosts.
Kid Tips
Babies: The streets are dark and bumpy in spots -- leave the stroller behind and bring a baby carrier instead.
School-Age Kids: The tour will be scary enough to keep them entertained and jumping at shadows, but isn't terrifying for most kids. However, those who frighten easily will not enjoy this outing.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Let teens be in charge of picture taking, as they may find great fun in trying to capture spectral images with a camera.
Planning Notes
- Free, but not appropriate for little ones. There's no admission charged for kids under six, but the subject matter and darkness will frighten young kids.
- Be on time. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the tour begins, as it departs promptly and latecomers will be left behind. There are no refunds.
