An Evening of Dance at the Palace Description
There's a drama unfolding at a ball held at the Governor's Palace, and it's as intriguing to young ladies as anything on the Disney Channel. A dashing guest at a country ball held by the Tomlinson's is prepared to declare his love to a rich and charming young widow, but his love note is (gasp!) passed to the wrong widow. The candlelit palace is the backdrop for the ball, where the company (your family) is fully expected to join in the dancing and drama.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: This play is entertaining to older kids, but may be hard to follow for younger children. However, kids of all ages who are fascinated by fanciful costumes and dancing will be entranced.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Preteen girls will particularly love this program, with its beautifully coiffed and dressed women outfitted in lace, silk, and ornate jewelry.
Planning Notes
- A popular program. The beautiful room at the Governor's Palace, while large, seats only 50 or so guests; buy tickets (800-447-8679) as soon as travel dates are set to ensure a place at the ball.
- Dress to impress. Those who dress in period costume stand a much better chance of being asked to dance; dads and brothers, be warned -- you may be chosen as well, whether in costume or not.
