Mid County Park Description
A small park, Mid County is nonetheless packed full of fun for the active family. With basketball and tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, and open fields for games of kickball, catch, and kite flying or simply spreading out a blanket and relaxing in the sun, there's something for every age range. The biggest attraction of all is Kidsburg, a huge play structure built entirely out of wood and old tires by community volunteers that's become a must-play for local children and visitors alike.
Kid Tips
Babies: A paved trail (two-thirds of a mile) through the park is perfect for strolling.
Toddlers & Pre-K: Kidsburg offers plenty of opportunity to stretch the imagination as well as the body -- the "miniature colony" has small homes to explore, ships, and a bridge to play on.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Even though it's designed for children and most older kids will have to curl their legs a bit to avoid dragging them on the ground, they'll still enjoy a ride on the zipline.
Planning Notes
- Bring your own food. There are no vending machines or food services at the park, so load up on snacks or pack a picnic.
- Bring the leash. Dogs are welcome at the park, but must be on a leash and are not allowed in the Kidsburg playground area.
