Get Revved! Revolutionary City for Young Patriots Description
A variety of events take place each day in Williamsburg, whether the governor is just returning to the capitol to report on the "uprising," young ladies are discussing what it means to be a patriot, or an unlucky fellow is being tried for treason right in the street (to be followed, if he's guilty, by tar and feathering -- encouraged by the shouts of the crowd). Each morning, the events of the day are put in perspective at Get Revved!; a costumed interpreter explains the historical events that are about to unfold -- and their significance -- to children in a way that's both fun and educational for them.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Skip it unless your child can sit still for the 15 to 20 minutes of the performance; if she can, she'll absolutely be engaged.
School-Age Kids: Encourage curious kids to act -- and interact -- with the costumed interpreters they'll see at Get Revved! and the other activities.
