Grand Medley of Entertainments Description
Be transported back to the eighteenth century with an evening of period entertainment that is said to have elicited raucous laughter from the likes of George Washington and his contemporaries. The Grand Medley is a bit of a variety show -- complete silliness, as the cast admits -- and offers up funny songs and skits and hilarious jokes. Kids of every age howl at the simple jokes, sight gags, and general silliness of the show, and don't need any encouragement to yell "huzzah!," hiss, boo, or cheer for the zany cast of characters.
Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: Kids in this age group will be most entertained by the antics; don't be surprised if they start dragging stuffed animals through the house just like the "beast" in the show, or want to recreate the simple puppet show from construction paper and popsicle sticks.
Planning Notes
- Open seating. Come early for the best seats, and don't worry about boredom -- in-character cast members are out front prior to the program to entertain early birds.
- Fun for all ages. Kids as young as 3 will be thoroughly engaged (babies and toddlers may get restless, however), and even teenagers will find themselves cracking up.
