Chickahominy River Front Park Description
A waterfront wonderland for families along the shore of the Chickahominy near its confluence with the James River, the park offers easy hiking trails and picnic areas, canoe and kayak rentals, pier fishing, and even a driving range. Admission to the park is free, and rentals -- from a kayak to a golf club -- are incredibly affordable, ranging from $2 for a club rental and $5 for a bucket of balls to an hourly rate of $5 for a kayak rental. The out-in-nature feel of the park is belied only by its proximity to town.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Go on a nature hunt by land or by water to spot the bald eagle and osprey nests along the shoreline.
Pre-Teens & Teens: The fishing pier is the perfect spot to introduce kids to fishing; there's no fee to fish from the pier.
