The Brant Description
Finding a souvenir in this spacious store won't be a problem for kids -- choosing just one thing to buy might be. The Brant stocks a large selection of Chincoteague sweatshirts, T-shirts, and other island-branded items, plus a wide array of stuffed animals, children's books and puzzles, beach gear, toys, jewelry, and even Christmas ornaments. It's a step above the typical souvenir shop, a store locals frequent, as well.
Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: Although the horse gear is sure to please, the vast selection of books (including the Misty and Stormy books) will entice as well.
Planning Notes
- Better than the beach. The store's large selection of shells can supplement beachcombing efforts -- pick up sea urchins, sea biscuits, sugar sea stars, and much more at prices that range from a few cents to several dollars.
- Horses, horses everywhere. The store stocks all manner of horse-related items, from stuffed animals to stickers to Horse-opoly (a Monopoly-type board game).
