Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards Description

This museum combines sports lore and memorabilia in an engaging, easily accessible environment. Located right next to Oriole Park, it houses a great deal of Orioles artifacts but also includes displays about the Baltimore Ravens and Maryland-born players of other sports, plus national sports figures and their achievements. Young visitors love the Kids Discovery Room — they eagerly try on professional uniforms (jerseys, helmets, shin guards, and cleats), try their hand at sports-themed matching games, and test their soccer-ball-passing skills in a virtual game. Be sure to check out our other Baltimore vacation ideas.

Kid Tips

Toddlers & Pre-K: Kids shorter than 4 feet will particularly enjoy trying on the uniforms. One 4-year-old girl tried on just about every uniform, then excitedly proclaimed, "This is cool, Mom!"

School-Age Kids: Kids this age will be thrilled to see how they measure up (literally) against sports legends like skater Dorothy Hamill (5-foot-6 in skates) and soccer phenom Tarik Walker (6-foot-2).

Planning Notes

  • One admission, two museums. If you're interested in the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum, as well, buy the combination ticket -- you'll save $2 off adult tickets.
  • Upstairs/downstairs. The exhibits on the main floor are standard behind-the-glass types; head downstairs for the Kids Discovery Room and more interactive exhibits.
