Coki Beach Description
Cozy, gorgeous, kid-friendly Coki Beach adjoins Coral World Ocean Park and offers hair braiders, a sensational dollar-a-minute massage for mom, dad, or the cranky teen, and opportunities to snorkel, kayak, parasail, and "snuba" (deep-down snorkeling, no experience necessary). Althea of Ocean Front Rentals takes care of cranky parents by offering discounts to families on renting chairs and snorkel gear. She also has lockers and a better-than-nothing bathroom/shower stand if the government-owned version is closed. Topping it off -- frozen drinks will gladly be brought to your chair. Inhale the view and enjoy!
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Buy a sand pail and relax. Little ones will be easily entertained.
School-Age Kids: Freshly-braided hair will expose portions of normally covered scalp. Painful sunburns may result if the scalp is not protected.
Pre-Teens & Teens: There are a lot of water-sport choices, especially in high season.
Planning Notes
- Nothing much to bring! There are a couple of basic beach bars and vendors happy to supply you with anything you may have forgotten, from sunscreen to lifejackets. This is a beach with real West Indian flavor that caters to tourists but, as always in the VI, there's plenty of room to spread out and enjoy.
