Atlantis Submarine Description
It begins at a dock in the shadows of behemoth cruise ships, triggering squeals and "holy cows!" Next, a 20-minute boat ride takes you to waters just off a deserted island. Keep your eyes peeled for the spectacle of a submarine slowly rising to the surface. You link up, board, seat yourself before a porthole-built-for-two, then sink into a magical world of swaying coral, colorful fish, sharks, sea turtles, and more. Kids begin laughing, clapping, and interacting with the clever captain narrating the action outside. Fruit punch, laced with (optional) rum, is offered on the ride to and from the 45-minute submarine adventure.

School-Age Kids: While kids of all ages will enjoy this, it really gets the young ones on the edge of their nautical seats.
Planning Notes
- Prone to seasickness? Don't worry. The ride out is fast and breezy, and the submarine itself is well pressurized and air-conditioned and did not trigger motion sickness in one highly-prone complainer.
- Go before you go. There is no bathroom on the sub. Once you're seated, you're seated. And the bathroom on the boat to and from is last-resort only. Use the one at base before you go.
- Waiting time. You're asked to arrive 30 minutes before the trip begins, forcing you to linger in a gift store. Bring a book for the young kids, perhaps a snack, and advise trinket-happy older kids of their limits before entering. Then there's a walk to the boat -- not too long, but it's always warm, and it could make a fussy child fussier.
- There's a height requirement. Children must be three-feet tall.
