St. Thomas Skyride Description

Take the gondola ride up to Paradise Point and watch the spectacular view unfold. "Views, schmiews!" say the kids, so time your ride to include the Bird Show and everyone will be happy. Charming and intimate, you'll laugh as you watch Shawn, a Busch Gardens veteran, work with her "kids" as they play birdie basketball, ride scooters, and stand all over you for photos. Shop, eat lunch in the clouds, and just try to peel your eyes from the images of cays, ships, and the turquoise waters below.

  • Gondola

  • Boutique

Kid Tips

Babies: Easily transportable throughout the whole trip.

Toddlers & Pre-K: They'll get a charge out of the ride, and there's space for them to toddle around.

School-Age Kids: The gondola will be a real blast for young kids. And the bird show's right up their alley

Pre-Teens & Teens: Even too-cool teens will enjoy the bird show and view.

Planning Notes

  • Only three Bird Shows daily. They're at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 and 3:30 p.m., for no extra fee.
  • Skip the nature trail. It's underwhelming. And hot.
  • Go for lunch. Prices are reasonable, and there are enough diversions for the kids.

Just the Facts

Fees: $10 - $20

Recommended Time: 1 to 2 hours

Reviews of St. Thomas Skyride

Not Recommended - Go to "Mountain Top" resort on west end of island.

What we loved:
Absolutely NOTHING!!

What we didn't love:
New Owners have runined it.

The tram has rust on it and does not appear to be under regular maintenance. The nature trail/zoo has rotten floor planks with holes in them - DANGEROUS! The handrails are splintered - LIKE SPLINTERS? Some of the animals did not have water and children can put their fingers into the cages. By the way, there was not attendant to the animals. The drink and food prices were a rip-off and they were out of several food items. Our friends were there last month and got stuck on the ferris wheel that looks like it is out of the 1950s. Last, dont walk by the second-floor outdoor grill if you plan to eat - youll lose your appetite! Read More

What we loved:
nothing

What we didn't love:
false advertising

Went on ride so I could take my gramddaughter to see the the bird show they advertised. Paid the adult and child fee. over $30 . Only after we got on the gondola was a sign on the inside saying that the bird show was canceled. I asked for my money back and was refused because I took the ride to the top. Read More
