Northern Vermont Llama Company Description
Kids of all ages will get a kick out of leading (not riding) one of 30 soft-natured llamas on a hike along the hilly cross-country trails around Smuggler's Notch. Along the way your guide will point out the animals and trees that make the hills their home. By the time you stop for a snack or picnic lunch, the kids will already be plotting how they can get their new friends to fit in the car.

Kid Tips
Babies: Sunset treks might make a nice wind-down time for babies who like movement. There is no age requirement for participation, and the animals aren't spooked by crying infants or sudden movement.
School-Age Kids: Younger kids will probably be better suited to a half-day excursion (offered Tuesday through Friday). Consider packing your own bag of trail mix or Cheerios for kids who prefer to snack on their own schedule.
Planning Notes
- You'll be hungry. Both half-day and full-day options include snacks (fresh fruit, baked goods, drinks, and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream). Full-day treks include lunch.
- The fun's not over. Take a drive out to the farm after your trek (about 11 miles from your meeting point) and pet one of their miniature donkeys, try on a pair of llama wool mittens, or pick out a Christmas tree on their cut-your-own farm.
- Timing is everything. Opt for a visit in September and you'll see a rainbow of leaf colors.
- Not a last-minute activity. Advance registration is required.
