Bryce Point Description
The main attraction of the park, Bryce Amphitheater is filled with thousands of hoodoos (pink and orange sandstone spires unlike anything you've ever seen before), rows and clusters that make a natural labyrinth of breathtaking complexity and beauty. Natural bridges are too numerous to count, and your kids will swear they see a white castle with walls of battlements and turrets off in the distance.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Although the wooden railing seems like a great place to climb ("Look at me, Mommy!") to a toddler, children are prohibited from doing so because of the dangerous cliffs below.
School-Age Kids: Kids old enough to read will be fascinated by the placards about the park's coyotes, flying squirrels, mule deer, and more.
Pre-Teens & Teens: From here adrenaline-filled teens can hike the Bristlecone Loop Trail or the Under-the-Rim Trail to get closer to the scenery (and away from tour bus groups).
Planning Notes
- Take the shuttle. Bryce Point is included in the free bus shuttle loop. Check on trail conditions. Though the Under-the-Rim Trail goes past Bryce Point, it may be closed in some sections. Ask at the visitor center if you plan to hike.
