Rim Trail Description
The entire trail is 11 miles long, but visitors can walk a flat section as short as a mile between bus shuttle stops. Because it follows the rim of the canyon with no significant change of altitude, the Rim Trail is the flattest and easiest in Bryce Canyon and perfect for young children. Grand vistas of the Bryce Amphitheater and Fairyland make this a feast for the eyes as well.

Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: The section from Sunset Point to Fairyland Point will appeal to this age group the most, with its changes in terrain and more adventurous paths.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Older kids may want a more challenging and less crowded hike, like Fairyland Loop.
Planning Notes
- Bring a camera. The rock formations are incredible, and the hoodoos change color depending on how the sunlight hits them.
- No guards on duty. Rangers advise that hikers take valuables with them, not leave them behind in cars.
- Wear sturdy shoes. Loose rock makes this trail slippery.
- Pay no fees. Since the trail is outside the park, you don't pay entrance fees to hike on it.
