Zion Shuttle Bus Description
The best way to get around in the park (and the only way to get up the scenic drive into the heart of Zion Canyon itself, now off-limits to cars), the Zion shuttle has charming drivers who provide just the right amount of commentary to highlight the views without ever boring anyone. The shuttles are propane-powered, clean, and quiet. The 50-minute shuttle ride is a great way for your family to get acquainted with the park.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Bring a snack—food and drinks are allowed on the buses.
School-Age Kids: If your kids are prone to motion sickness, ride up front. The back carriage tends to swing more around turns.
Planning Notes
- Ride with the ranger. During high season, rangers lead a two hour narrated shuttle bus tour daily, once in the morning and again in the evening. Get your free ticket (space is limited) one day in advance at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center.
- Don't ride at mid-day. The Zion buses have air vents in the roofs but no air conditioning. They tend to get hot at mid-day.
