Fairyland Loop Description
Straight out of Cinderella, the part of Bryce Canyon known as Fairyland has thousands of pink and orange sandstone spires jutting up out of the canyon. Energetic preteens and teens can hike the 8 mile (4 to 5 hour) strenuous loop trail; younger kids with less stamina will enjoy bounding down a section of the trail. Since the entrance is just outside the park, this gem is often overlooked and never as crowded as more popular spots.

Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: No rails and precipitous drops may make some parents of toddlers nervous.
Pre-Teens & Teens: The loop is a long but satisfying hike for this age group (one 12-year-old and 14-year-old scampered down the trail like mountain goats), as it meanders over all different kinds of terrain.
Planning Notes
- Bring a camera. The rock formations are incredible, and the hoodoos change color depending on how the sunlight hits them.
- No guards on duty. Rangers advise that hikers take valuables with them, not leave them behind in cars.
- Wear sturdy shoes. Loose rock makes this trail slippery.
- Pay no fees. Since the trail is outside the park, you don't pay entrance fees to hike on it.
