Museum of Ancient Life Description
The Museum of Ancient Life is THE place to go for all things dinosaur, from the enormous one painted on the outside of the building to the Bone Cabin Quarry (focused on paleontology) to the Xango Mammoth Screen Theater (seats 325). Sixty complete dinosaur skeletons are on display, as well as a Star Tunnel filled with more than ten thousand stars and dozens of displays that teach what Earth was like millions of years ago.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Even though some toddlers might not go wide-eyed over dinosaurs, several engaging games are educational and easy for preschoolers to navigate. They'll not soon forget the Erosion Table, a huge sand and water display filled with plastic dinosaurs and trees.
School-Age Kids: The numerous films on prehistoric dinosaurs and sea monsters in the mammoth theater will be awe-inspiring.
Pre-Teens & Teens: For those fascinated by "Jurassic Park" and prehistoric life, the museum will be a vacation highlight. Not so interested in those things? Skip the museum and explore Salt Lake City instead.
Planning Notes
- Worth the drive. The museum is about 25 miles south of Salt Lake City (about 40 minutes depending on traffic).
