Treehouse Children's Museum Description
A magical place for children ages 2 to 12 (though babies and teens are welcome), Treehouse Children's Museum is themed around literature and art. Little ones stay busy doing imaginative play: reading and listening to stories, creating arts and crafts, and producing and performing theater. Children can climb up a two-story tree inside the building and drop parachutes off the tree to a target drop, play dress up, use whisper tubes, and slide down a spiral slide. Expect to read, read, read while you're there (the museum's goal is to encourage literacy).
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: The pint-sized sinks and toilets thrill young ones (why play in the museum when the bathroom is your size?). They'll enjoy everything about this hands-on museum, including "On-Track to Reading" (Mondays, September through May from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.) The program provides stories, songs and art for children getting ready for preschool and kindergarten. There is also a corresponding "On Track" exhibit area just for children under age 5.
School-Age Kids: Favorite activities are bound to include exploring a replica of the Oval Office (and pretending to be president); a giant interactive floor map of Utah, "Days of the Knights" focusing on castles, knights, chivalry and the middle ages; and "The One World Village" featuring five houses representing China, Germany, England, Mexico and Mongolia.
