Six Flags Fiesta Texas Description
Six Flags is renowned for its brand of inverted, hyper-speed, death-defying kinds of contraptions. Kids for whom that is a good thing will find joy on Scream (that ominous blue/yellow/orange tower ride that's hard to miss) and Poltergeist (a 60-mph roller coaster). If terms like "ejected" and "plummet" are not your cup of tea, there's Daffy's School Bus Express and Little Castaways in the kiddie sections of the park.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Despite its reputation for thrill rides, Six Flags is increasingly kind and gentle, offering a growing selection of just-for-tots rides.
School-Age Kids: The price increases by height, not age, so it's still economical if your child hasn't quite made the cutoff.
Pre-Teens & Teens: If they're complaining about too much culture and history, here's their reward.
Planning Notes
- Shorten the wait. Ask about the Flash Pass system which, for a fee, helps you avoid long lines.
- Go off-season. Fall and spring have the lightest crowds; you might even do well on summer weekdays.
- Go on the cheap. Check the website often for discounts.
- Party at the park. Check the calendar for special events and shows around holidays such as Halloween.
- Get wet. In season, the adjacent water park offers additional thrills. Admission is included in the price of a one-day ticket.
