SegCity San Antonio Tours Description
It's safe to say that Davy Crockett wouldn't know what to make of these wacky-looking contraptions. Kids, on the other hand, are likely to fall in love. The history-meets-high-tech adventure is a great way to start a San Antonio visit. Tours cover spots like El Mercado, the King William District, and the Alamo, with a little bit of history thrown in for good measure. For kids (and adults), the vehicles all by themselves are a hoot. When the tour's done, they might not remember the Alamo, but they will definitely remember the Segways.
Kid Tips
Pre-Teens & Teens: There isn't a better way to introduce them to a new city than from the wheels of a Segway.
Planning Notes
- Call ahead. Reservations are required.
- Make it a two-fer. Take a Friday afternoon tour, and you may get to see some of the First Friday's festival activity in the King William District.
- Make the weight. Kids must be 85 pounds to ride, which generally means about 12 and up. Younger children close to the weight limit are welcome at operator's discretion.
- Consider an alternative. Alamo Segway (alamosegway.com) also offers tours.
