Fort Worth Museum of Science & History Description
One of the first children's museum's in the country — and the first in Texas — the Fort Worth Science and History Museum has recently undergone a huge transformation to expand its mission of teaching science and history as it relates to Fort Worth and beyond. A planetarium and IMAX theatre, a space just for young children to learn and explore, the Children's Museum and more is housed in the soon-to-reopen (Fall 2009) child's wonderland.
Kid Tips
Babies: Most rails aren't suitable for strollers; try Limestone Ledge or the Boardwalk Loop if you need to stroll.
Toddlers & Pre-K: Hands-on opportunities abound, from trying on space suits to building popsicle stick structures. Check with the information desk to find out what's on when you visit.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Despite the heavy emphasis on younger children, the museum caters to a teen audience with high-tech exhibits and experiements.
