Austin Children's Museum Description
Kids ready for stardom have a blast hamming it up at Austin Kiddie Limits, one of the cool exhibits at this favorite Austin play spot. Grab an air guitar, don a costume, adjust the spotlight and hit the stage playing backup to Willie Nelson and others. Those who prefer lower-wattage fun can be train engineers (listen for gleeful cries of "The train's coming!") and store clerks, or try out their building skills in Tinkerer's Workshop.
Kid Tips
Babies: During Monday morning "Baby Bloomers," the museum is open to 0 to 3 year olds and caregivers only, with stories and activities just for them.
Toddlers & Pre-K: See the tip for babies.
School-Age Kids: It's new, but Tinkerer's Workshop (for ages 5 to 11) is expected to be busy. Try it out any weekday after school when crowds tend to be thinner.
Planning Notes
- Go gratis. On Wednesday "Community Nights" the museum is open until 8 and admission is by donation.
