Frist Center for the Arts Description
No matter what the current exhibit, this family award-winning museum has special interactive guides to help kids navigate through the galleries and discover art for themselves. The artquest gallery on the second floor is an ongoing drop-in art center where kids can make collages or learn about printmaking or photography. Kids 18 and under are free all the time, so this is a budget-stretching diversion, too.

Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Do a quick walk-through, then come back to spend more time at the kid-friendly interactive exhibits upstairs.
School-Age Kids: Visiting exhibits, such as the recent Egyptian display, are a highlight, and the audiotapes enhance the experience.
Pre-Teens & Teens: If possible, plan around the special educational programs. Group tours are great for art enthusiasts.
Planning Notes
- Go when your family isn't tired. There's not a lot of seating or areas to get out of the way, so schedule at a time of day when the family has the energy to keep moving.
