General Jackson Showboat Description

Cruise the Cumberland River and take a trip back in time aboard this replica of a 19-century riverboat. But don't expect an ordinary ferry: this enormous 300-foot showboat has four decks, multiple dining rooms, and even a theater that hosts concerts and shows. If your kids are tired of country western, choose the evening cruise, which features a ritzy dinner and musical theater revue.

Kid Tips

Babies: Stick to the daytime lunch cruise (but even that might be too much for a fussy baby).

Toddlers & Pre-K: Boats can be stressful with mobile babies and toddlers; probably best to skip or do during naptime.

School-Age Kids: The country music and comedy combo of the lunch cruise would best suit 5-8-year-olds.

Pre-Teens & Teens: Older kids and teens will best appreciate the grandness of this riverboat if you can take in one of the extravagant shows performed in the grand Victorian theater.

Planning Notes
