Ridemakerz Description
Think of Ridemakerz as Build-a-Bear on a liberal dose of testosterone. Ridemakerz has opened its first two stores, giving kids the chance to design their own 1/18 scale toy cars (the other one is at Mall of America, and there are more to come). Look through the eyes of a little kid (OK, or a big kid) for a moment and imagine building your toy car from the ground up, choosing the body style, tires, lights, sounds, and more. What more could a car nut want?
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: Ridemakerz bills itself as being for ages 6 to 106, but try telling that to a 4-year-old road junky. With a little help, preschoolers will do fine.
School-Age Kids: Get your motors running. This place is for you.
Pre-Teens & Teens: Anyone who's into cars will like this.
Planning Notes
- Don't love cars? Non-car-loving siblings might prefer Build-a-Bear, also at Broadway at the Beach.
- Car facts. Kids might enjoy reading the website before they go. It has information on real-life car customization and manufacturing, as well as a bit on alternative fuels.
