I was visiting Myrtle Beach and on the last day of our vacation, we decided to do something a little different then the same-day pool/beach. We googled boat tours within the area and Plantation River Tours came up. We were excited to find out they had a new airboat tour and booked immediately. The lady who answered the phone was abrubt, not so much rude, but definitely not friendly and inviting. We decided to book the 2:00 tour and before hanging up, I said "See you at 2!" Our GPS took us to a different road, making us run about 5 minutes behind. As soon as we realized the slight detour we called to let them know we were running late. The lady was extremely rude to us and told us "You guys need to hurry! They had been waiting on you for 15 minutes." Again...she did not say this nicely at all! Not once when I booked this tour were we told to arrive 15 minutes early. So, I suggested we take the 3:00 tour, so we didnt hold them up any longer. She sighed and again, spoke to me very rudely and told me just come on...they will wait. At this point, I didnt want to come at all, but I didnt want to lose my $80.00 more. Once we arrived and I apologized again for being late, her whole demeanor changed and I was now "sweetie." She also then told me that SO MANY PEOPLE have reported having the same GPS problems. If this was the case, then maybe something to do to prevent future guest tardiness would be to inform guests at booking of the correct directions or post a blurb on the website!! The boat ride itself was over at 2:52 we looked at the time as we pulled in, so this is NOT a full hour tour. We saw some turtles and the fresh air and being out on the water were great. I enjoy any ride out on the water; however, Ive been on multiple boat tours from PA down to FL and this was definitely overpriced. $40.00 is not worth what you get for this tour!! The tour guide was nice, but didnt even acknowledge us when we arrived to the boat. That made us feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. So, again, poor customer service, unprofessional staff and overpriced. Just my personal opinion. Id HIGHLY recommend Captain Dicks in Murrells Inlet instead. Much better experience ALL around!!
