Children's Museum of the Lowcountry Description
The Children's Museum of the Lowcountry gives kids 3-12 the chance to do the kind of stuff that they wish they could do at home, like paint murals on the walls. While they're at it, they can also work in a garden, run a shrimp boat, work at a grocery store, and cook a meal fit for a king. (King Arthur, that is.) Another favorite is Raceways, where kids race golf balls through chutes and loops. The adults call it physics but the kids call it fun.
Kid Tips
Babies: The Totally Toddler area is what you hope it will be: a soft play area for babies (and toddlers, naturally) to crawl around without parents having to worry about sharp corners, stairs, or easily accessible exits.
School-Age Kids: Racing boats in Waterwise, an elaborate water table, will be a popular activity.
Planning Notes
- Check the Website. The museum offers free classes and activities, such as kids' karaoke, Caribbean music, and creating animal masks.
- Convenient location. The museum is located below the Visitor and Information Center, making it a wonderful first fun stop for your visit.
